Recordkeeping
Think of recordkeeping as the system that tracks every detail of your 401(k) plan. In this role, we handle the day-to-day administration of your plan’s assets and information.
This includes:
Tracking contributions: Accurately logging all money contributed by both employees and the company.
Maintaining account balances: Keeping a real-time record of each individual's account balance, including investment gains and losses.
Processing transactions: Processing requests for withdrawals, rollovers, loans, etc.
Providing access: Giving plan sponsors and participants a secure online portal where they can view balances, contributions, and investment performance.
Administration
Administration is the back-end work that makes plans run smoothly. We also handle most complex compliance and reporting tasks so you don't have to.
This includes:
Compliance testing: Performing most required annual tests to confirm the plan is fair and does not favor highly compensated employees.
Reporting and filing: Preparing and filing reporting for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Labor (DOL) (e.g., 1099-R documents, the annual Form 5500).
